One day, as people passed by the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he taught them the reward of giving greetings. Each greeting brought more rewards—ten, twenty, and even thirty good deeds! But when someone forgot to greet, the Prophet gently reminded him, saying, “When you come to a gathering, give the greeting. When you leave, give it again. Both greetings are just as important.” This story teaches us the beauty and reward of spreading peace with a simple “Assalamu alaykum.” This story is authentic, told to us by the noble Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them), and was collected by Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) in his Al-Adab Al-Mufrad and classed as authentic by Imam Al-Albani (may Allah have mercy on him).
