In the battle of Dhat Ar-Riqa, an Ansari companion of the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) demonstrated incredible devotion and patience. While standing guard with a fellow companion, he was repeatedly struck by arrows from an enemy who had sworn to kill a Muslim. Despite the pain, he continued his prayer, not wanting to interrupt his recitation of the Qur’an. When he finished, he woke his companion, who was shocked by his injuries. The Ansari explained that he was so focused on completing his recitation that he didn’t want to stop until he finished. This story highlights the Ansari’s commitment to his prayer and the trust in Allah’s protection. This story is authentic, told to us by the noble Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them), and was collected by Imam Abu Dawud (may Allah have mercy on him) and classed as authentic by Imam Al-Albani (may Allah have mercy on him).
